Hanging Temple of Datong Extension

This extension can be taken from Beijing

Built more than a millennium ago the temples remain a feat of engineering as they cling on to the sheer rock face.  Nearby, are the Yungang Grottos, these awe-inspiring rock-hewn caves are truly a treasure of ancient China.

 

HANGING TEMPLES ITINERARY

Day 01:
Morning train from Beijing to Datong. Transfer to your 4*Hotel

Day 02:
Full day visit to the Hanging Temples and Yungang Grottoes (B,L)

Day 03:
Return day train to Beijing and transfer back to your hotel. (B)

When to go

China has a great diversity of climates. From bitterly cold winters to dry hot summers in the North and Semi-tropical summers and mild winters in the South. March to May and September to early November are the best times to visit China.

London to Beijing is approximately 10 hours whilst to Shanghai and Hong Kong approximately 12 hours with direct flights operated by British Airways, Air China, Virgin Atlantic and Cathay Pacific Airways

GMT+8. Despite the vast size of the country, Beijing time is standard throughout China.
