Vietnam Discovered
Hanoi/Halong/Danang/Hoi An/Hue/Ho Chi Min City
Vietnam's geographic diversity, ranges from pine forests and peaks in the far north to the verdant tropical waterways in the far south, from the sandy beaches to cool tea plantations of the Central Highlands. The country can be divided into three distinct regions, the north, the centre and the south. In fact, under French colonial rule Vietnam was split into three similar administrative areas.
The north was settled first and is characterized by rich farming land of the Red River Delta. In the centre, the Truong Son Mountain Range runs along the Laotian border in the west and the narrow coastal strip bordering the South China Sea in the east. In the south the Mekong Delta is the country's most fertile region and a major rice and fruit producing area.
In our tour, we visit Hanoi, Vietnam's capital city. Steadily growing, the city retains much of its past with colonial architecture temples and pleasant lakes. Famous are Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, the Temple of Literature and Hoan Kiem Lake.
From Hanoi we next move to Halong bay, where you will take a trip in a boat to marvel at the thousands of rocky crags in this emerald bay.
We then make our way south to via Danang to Hoi An, port town with a fascinating mixture of Chinese and Japanese architecture.
Located in the very middle of Vietnam, we visit Hue, former imperial city and home to the Purple Palace and Imperial mausoleums. Discover the vestiges of Vietnam's past and savour Hue's own particular cuisine.
Our final stop is Ho Chi Minh city. Still known by the locals as Saigon, our tour takes in the essence of the city, visiting such places as the Cathedral and Old Post Office.
