Hanging Temple Extension - Itinerary

Day 1: Beijing/Datong

Transfer for a day-time train to Datong in soft seat. Overnight at Datong Hotel or similar. (B)

Hanging Temple at Datong

Day 2: Datong

Morning visit to the Hanging Temple. Constructed over 1,400 years ago and built half way up the face of a cliff, the temple is supported by wooden beams hangs precariously onto the cliff face. Bridges and stairways interlink more than 40 pavilions. The view is stunning. In the afternoon, visit the Yungang Grottoes. The Buddhist Caves contain over 51,000 statues, some over 40 feet high. Day 3: Datong/Beijing

Take a train back to Beijing. Meet on arrival and transfer back to the hotel where you rejoin the China Highlight Tour or China Discovery Tour. (B)
